Sunkids Playgroups (IN ENGLISH AND MANDARIN):

Mini Group (6 months – walking) (Accompanied)

Class duration: 60 mins

Babies love to play, smile and interact with parents and other babies. The curriculum of the mini group is very interactive and parents and babies will experience many fun activities together. You’ll find singing, dancing with scarves, playing with musical instruments, reading stories, or feeling cloths of different textures. At Sunkids, they also teach children simple signs in sign language like “milk” and “more,” so the children can communicate in a frustration-free manner with parents or caregivers.

Tots Group (Walking – 2.5 years) (Accompanied)

Class duration: 1 hr 30 mins

Toddlers are terrific learners, with an amazing amount of energy and an eagerness to try new things. This is a dynamic, fun and comprehensive programme for parents and children to enjoy together. It helps children develop language skills whilst concurrently develop their self- esteem, creativity and love for learning. The curriculum includes free play with educational toys & equipment, circle time, music & movement, arts & crafts, storytelling, snack time and learning time based on our current theme.

Explorers Group – (2 – 3.5 years) (Unaccompanied)

Class duration: 1 hr 30 mins

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily and increasing their independence. The curriculum for this group will include free play with educational toys & equipment, circle time, music & movement, arts & crafts, storytelling, snack time and learning time based on our current theme. The curriculum will be more advanced and Sunkids encourages independence and confidence in learning and socializing.

ENGLISH PROGRAMMES

Sunkids Phonics (2.5 – 6 years) (Unaccompanied)

Children are drawn to letters and sounds and the teachers have created Sunkids Phonics to introduce young learners to the English alphabet and phonics in a fun, simple and effortless way! They combine phonics teaching with songs, storytelling, arts & crafts and many fun activities. The development of phonemic awareness at an early age will provide children with a solid foundation for learning to read, write and spell. The unique Letterland phonics based system is used in this programme.

Phonics (I) : (playgroup) Letter sounds, singing, storytelling & arts & crafts

Phonics (II) : A-Z Word Building

Class duration: 60 mins Age: From 3 yrs

Phonics (III): Onsets and Rimes & Beginnings, Middles, and Endings

Class duration: 60 mins Age: From 4 yrs

Phonics (IV): Consonant Blends, Digraphs and Trigraphs

Class duration: 60 mins Age: From 5 yrs

English Stars (3 – 6 years)

This course will help students develop the skills and confidence that lay the foundation for learning to read and write. The students will learn reading and writing readiness skills, build comprehension, increase vocabulary and develop a love of reading and writing.

English Stars (III) – Advanced Reading & Writing

Sunkids Storyland (3 – 6 yrs)

Class duration: 60 mins

A fun and interactive storytelling programme to inspire students to develop a lifelong love of language, stories and music. The programme feature an assortment of storytelling, puppetry, singing, role play and other fun activities related to the story.

MANDARIN PROGRAMMES

Mandarin Stars (3 – 7 yrs)

This is a comprehensive Chinese course that will help students develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills simultaneously. The curriculum will begin with a focus on listening and speaking skills. At the appropriate time, pinyin, reading and writing Chinese characters will be introduced and children will increase their knowledge of vocabulary and master accurate articulation, laying a strong foundation for Chinese studies.

Mandarin Stars (I)

Mandarin Stars (III)

Mandarin Stars (IV)

Story & Verse Speaking (Aged 3 years and up)

Prerequisite: ability to communicate in Mandarin

Class duration: 60 mins

Experienced native Mandarin teachers have created a unique programme to help students become confident and expressive speakers in Mandarin. Through storytelling, voice training and exploration of different rhymes,poems and stories, your child will develop accuracy in pronunciation as well as build confidence in speaking in front of an audience. Sunkids also offers training for competitions and teachers are able to guide students to enter different competitions in Hong Kong.
